Sineqube at Art Pad Gallery 11.21.09

I will be providing the musical backdrop for the Art Pad Gallery's Holiday Group show this Saturday, playing guitar and using custom software to create an ambient 3-hour soundscape. Admission is free, food and drink is provided, and local artwork will be displayed. There's even a video game controller hooked up to my software so audience members can play along with me. More info available at www.artpadgallery.com . Hope to see you there!

Paying for stuff is the new free

The introductory price of "free" for the new album will expire soon. An updated version with 4 new tracks and new artwork has been sent to CDBaby for distribution. If you still want the old version for free but have been putting off that pesky download, now is the time to spend that bandwidth.

Video footage from recent show

Video uploaded to YouTube from the recent Art Pad gig. A game controller is connected to an unreleased sineqube application made with Max/MSP that incorporates a live looper and sequencer with tempo-synced delay. The controller allows for anyone in the audience to come up and play along with me. The full set was 3 hours. Sound quality is low as it was recorded via the video camera.

Trying out the new Tunecore widget. I like the interface more than Soundclick's, and the integration with social networking sites. Plus, links are included to buy the albums. Not sure which one I'll keep up, so I'm just trying it on the home page for now. Anyone have an opinion?

Updated 7.12.09

It would seem that people like free stuff. :)

Sapling was included on the cover DVD of MusicTech Magazine's Issue 75, June 2009. Thanks to MusicTech for featuring the software.

Also, sonic wizard Richard Devine gave Sapling a mention on his Twitter page. Thanks, Richard! Hope to hear some of Sapling's mangling on your next release.

• realtime timbral controls
• randomized initial impulse to provide natural variation over time
• tempo-synced stereo delay
• store presets for pitch, sequences, and timbre, and export them to disk
• record output directly to disk as an aiff file
• cpu monitor helps keep track of the tax on your system
• each voice has a hotkeyed mute switch for ease of live use
• freeware! (but donations are welcome!!)

More info can be found on the Kapling page. Enjoy!

Updated 10.12.08

Just finished up the new album, String, which should be available on the iTunes Music Store and Amazon in just a few weeks. Until then, a sampling of 3 out of 12 new tracks, "breriac," "pholuksct," and "dlivvt," is available in the player to the left and at Soundclick. I hope you enjoy.

Updated 8.19.08

I exceeded my available bandwidth limit recently which caused the site to be down most of today and yesterday. I've upgraded the quota so hopefully this won't be an issue in the future. My apologies to anyone who was trying to access the site in the last 24 hours or so. But thanks to everyone for checking out my work. :)

Sapling 1.0 is now available!

Sapling is a freeware standalone sound-mangling application built with Max/MSP 5. Find more information on the software page, or go directly to the Sapling page.

The program is completely free, but if you enjoy using it, please consider purchasing my album Thread to support the work. Thanks very much.

Updated 6.22.08

Welcome to the official sineqube website. I'm a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist, composer, teacher, and amateur programmer. My work is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, with a special emphasis on electronic and computer music.

My debut album Thread was just released globally on the iTunes Music Store and Amazon.com. If you have iTunes you can find the album here. If you'd rather find it on Amazon, you can find it here.

A few tracks are available in the streaming player on the left.

In the coming months I hope to have some videos showcasing my work and a new freeware music application. I'm constantly writing new music so subsequent albums are in the works.

Thanks very much for stopping by.
